Using the Equipment
Audio & video facilities and the teaching tools in our Seminar rooms and Classrooms are managed via the Touch panel.
This includes switching on and off the Projectors, selecting the input source, setting the audio volume from the source devices such as laptop or the classroom desktop PC and the wireless microphone as well.
Projection System
All Seminar rooms and Classrooms are equiped with projectors to allow users to project from the laptop to the projector screens
Interface for laptops
Both HDMI and VGA cables are available for users to connect their laptop to the projection system.
Video adaptors will not be provided in the rooms. Users are required to bring the specific adaptors required for their laptops or devices.
Wireless Presentation
Wireless presentation is available in all Seminar rooms and Classrooms.
Users will be able to connect to the projection system via the wireless presentation system and its application and project from their laptop or smart devices wirelessly.

Prerequisites:
- Connection to SMU network
- ClearPass app must be installed on the laptop (For assistance with installing the ClearPass app, please approach our IT Help Center)
Classroom Desktop PC
A desktop PC running Microsoft Windows is available in all Seminar Rooms and Classrooms except the Active Learning Classrooms in SMU Connexion Building.
The desktop PC is located in the AV closet and comes with a set of wireless keyboard and mouse.
Only Staff and Faculty would be able to login to the Classroom PC using their SMU credientials
Document Camera
A document camera is available in all Seminar rooms and Classrooms.
The document camera allows user to project hardcopy notes onto the projection screens.
DVD Player
A region free DVD player is available in all Seminar rooms and Classrooms except the Active Learning Classrooms in SMU Connexion Building.
User could use it to play videos or music from their CD or DVD discs. Blu-ray discs are not supported
Wireless Microphones
A wireless clip-on microphone is available in all Seminar rooms and Classrooms.
Our audio system does not support any other microphones that users bring and would want to use. Users are strongly advised not to plug in other or additional microphones to the audio system and tinker with the audio settings.
Video Conference System & VC enabled Seminar rooms & Classrooms.
Several selected Seminar rooms and Classrooms are equipped with a video conference system or video conferencing devices.

Video Recording enabled Seminar rooms & Classrooms.
Several selected Seminar rooms and Classrooms have video recording capability.
Faculty could record their lessons onto a USB thumbdrive or record to the SMU cloud server.
