This tool is useful for users who have recently changed their passwords, as it removes all SMU-related cached credentials on your Windows system; clearing your system cache after a password change is recommended to prevent your computer from reusing an old, saved password, and this tool helps you do exactly that by clearing your password cache.

Supported OS and Browser
This tool is applicable for users using Windows 10 / 11, with Microsoft Edge.
For other non-Windows devices, please refer to the “Synchronise and clear old credentials from your devices” section on the SMU Password Reset / Unlock page.
How to use the Cached-Password Remover tool
- Download the tool and unzip the zipped folder.
- Execute the CachedPasswordRemover.exe file by double clicking it.
- Read the disclaimer and press any key to continue.
- The tool will now proceed to remove the cached passwords on your Microsoft Edge browser and Windows operating system.
- You will see a notification that the cached-password removal is successful.
